Overview
About Me
I love seeing new places and meeting new people. And that desire got me into traveling the Americas. In February 2015 we started our journey in Buenos Aires, went all the way down to Ushuaia - the end of the world - and travelled our way up to Columbia. After living and working in Vancouver for 9 months, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing in beautiful BC, we went on a road trip through the US and Canada.
I am working now as a freelancer which gives me the freedom to head off again And sooner than expected. This time only for 3 weeks to visit amazing people in Australia that I met in South and North America. And I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet many more open minded couchsurfers on my way to exchange stories, share a glass of wine, a climb, a hike or whatever works out :)
Originally I am from Berlin. But moving around, has been kind of a pattern - after a couple of years I usually feel like I need a change, new input, different views and thoughts. So here I am again. Exploring the world, meeting new people and connecting to some of them.
I enjoy to take pictures, go rock climbing, hiking, biking, skiing, checking out concerts of bands I rarely know or sharing a beer and a laugh with my friends.
And I like to discuss world wide politics to understand people's views on different topics.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Visiting a place is all about the people you meet there. I would love to experience the places I am visiting from a local perspective and share their love for their favorite spots and places. I have hosted a few people in Vancouver and will be hosting more once I get settle in my new home in Berlin, for sure.
But I am also using this platform to get in touch with like minded people here in Vancouver, share travel stories, hear about their favourite concert venues, local bands, best hikes, most loved sunset spots.... I have met a great deal of good people in Vancouver via Couchsurfing and loved it.
Also, in case it works out - I would love to improve my Spanish.

Music, Movies, and Books
Noze, Cat Empire, Talking Heads, The Doors, Metronomy, and so many more
Currently reading the Open Veins of Latin America - being a bit shocked I have to admit and seeing the whole refugee crisis as a problem that we all contributed to.
But also - very much more light weighted Game of Thrones, Anna Gavalda's Hunting and Gathering (a horrible translation of the title), The Kite Runner, The Shadow of the wind, Brother of Sleep, The Wall...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling 4 months alone in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Quitting my job to rewind and start new with my trip to South and North America.
And all the little and bigger adventures in between.
Teach, Learn, Share
A few recipes from "how to not get completely fed up from boring food traveling without a fridge" to great vegetarian / vegan recipes (not that crap where you just add tofu instead of meat) to my own bread recipe so you can have a real German "Brotzeit".
If you always wanted to try rock climbing, I am happy to take you out there.
And probably tons of good advice on what to bring to Patagonia / Bolivia / Peru / Columbia etc. and how to organize yourself efficiently (I am German - so qualified by nature for that haha) when you only have a backpack for your stuff.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My pumpkin lasagne with mozzarella and beshamel sauce
