About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I get to know the world to get to know myself.

ABOUT ME

Hey, I am a very open, friendly and all interested person. The one characteristic which describes myself best are my far-scattered interests. I like politics, history and art a lot, but science just captures me and I just love sports! In fact I play basketball and football, but I prefer outdoor activities like climbing and mountain biking. At the moment I work as swimming teacher. I am not extremely extrovert but very open-minded and keen on getting to know new people from different backgrounds. I may seem a little serious at the beginning but soon everybody talking to me will notice my pretty sarcastic humor.
And I adore spontaneous actions! As I am a big fan of hitch hiking and wild camping, I like the feeling of not knowing what comes next, where to go or where to stay the night. I just love this tension!

PHILOSOPHY

Since I am very ambitious I have got a plan for my life, well, at least an airy imagination of it. Of course I cannot tell how things will develop! And I am interested in philosophy and politics and I represent the opinion that everybody should care about issues as the climate change, omnipresent social injustice and the impact of the current economic system. But in general I dont take things to serious, for now I still feel very young and so I try to enjoy my life even thought there are a lot of things I do not agree with in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I`ve spent a few nights on the very comfortable couches of students in Rhineland-Palatinate. Last February I stayed a week with Michael in copenhagen and Sven in Malmö. Both very recommendable hosts. In Budapest I spent a few days with Kristina and in Oradea/Rumania I got to know the Rumanian country life this June. With a friend I was at Remus house. Recently I couchsurfed in Alcorcón/Madrid.

Interests

Well, at first I am very into sports, especially outdoor sports. I enjoy e.g. climbing, mountain biking, hiking and skiing. I love concerts and festivals just as playing the piano and guitar. I`m also very interested in languages, so I learn french in evening classes. But in general I am really open-minded to new activities of every description.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy "older" music, mostly evergreens of the last century, songs by The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Nirvana, and various other artists. I like modern electronic music too, for example the band Moderat. My favorite band are the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Movies, well I have no particular affinity to any genre of them, but I`ve got some favorites. So I am always fascinated by "Inception","Black Swan" and the "The Hunger Games". But friends would say that movies about thieves captivate me in particular...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being to Romania this year has changed my way of traveling a lot. Yes, I have spent nights before in the gardens and houses of randomly asked nice people on a bike tour in 2013. But in Romania I made my first hitchhike experiences and this way of getting around combined with couchsurfing or just ringing on peoples door bell to ask to spend the night in their house seems to me the very best way to travel, since you do not only see the sights but also get to know the locals and the proper feeling of the region. That´s what became clear to me on the journey through Romania and now I cannot imagine a better way to get to know the world and its inhabitants.
