About Me
Me and my partner Eduard recently came back to Spain after spending four years in the UK, working on our PhDs. Our son Ireneu arrived in September 2016, he is a very friendly and sociable boy, and sleeps well at night ;-)
I am a historian and recently finished a PhD on Catalan national identity. I now work in the arts and museums sector. Eduard is a linguist and currently works as a secondary school teacher.
We both love travelling the world and meeting new people and new ways of thinking and of living.
We are both quiet and easygoing people, we never really liked to party and now that we have a baby we don't even have to pretend we do! We do enjoy a nice glass of wine though. Time at our place is well spent eating good food, having a nice conversation, or just enjoying the couch with a movie or a book.
Both Eduard and me have a big interest in architecture (I am more of a historical person, while Eduard has developed a recent passion for mid-century-modern arch) so we may be able to offer a tour or at least some guidance about Girona's buildings :-)
We also love going to the mountains and are happy to provide advice on where to hike. Spoiler alert: public transport around here sucks.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We generally only host on weekends and we are sometimes away. To that end, we update a CS calendar with the dates we are able to host and the dates we can't.
=== If the app won't let you send us a request for any specific dates, it means those dates are blocked and we can't host you. Please do not message us "anyway". I like to respond to all requests, but please check the availability before contacting us. Thanks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think that there is much more to human exchanges than money, and we are just loving the experience! Our baby Ireneu likes having people at home, and also travelling and getting to know other places and faces :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have climbed a few mountains, reached a few summits, and I also left my job, my home, my city, my people, to start from zero in the cold and grey UK and do a PhD.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hospitality. A nice place to stay. Conversation and company if you fancy it. Information and suggestions about Girona and its surroundings.
