I'm Lucile and I'm in film studies. I have just finished my undergraduate degree ! I live in Strasbourg with my boyfriend Alex (he's a musician and he plays in a band "New Balkan Express", you may find a link on Facebook. He is a really good guitarist (not only because I love him). When he was 11, he lived in Reunion's Island. He loves making jokes and eating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Firstly because we love travelling and meeting new people ! When you arrive in a country that you don't know, it's very helpful to have someone/to meet someone who knows/who lives in the city. It does not feel the same when you discover a city and live in an hotel with other tourists and when you live at someone's house - I would rather help someone with lunch and cleaning the place than live in a room that does not change wether if I am in Paris, New York or Sydney..

We are crazy about cinema and music (and also cats and dogs). When Alex sees an animal, he becomes excited, elated in fact.

Music, Movies, and Books

Together we are crazy about Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Massive Attack ! Having to choose my all time favorite movie is like having someone ask me, "Which of your children do you love the most?" I can't answer that. I love them equally. The same can be said for movies. I love certain certain movies for different reasons in different contexts. I love Star Wars like Alex because it defines a big part of my childhood. It is, in my opinion, a timeless film. I love Sunrise, an old movie (1927) that I really love, very moving. I also love Mulholland drive, Philadelphia, 12 angry men, Paths of Glory, The Barefoot Contessa, Up, the films of Miyazaki, Polanski, Truffaut, Damien chazelle, Wenders, Hawks.... We also like sharing our point of view.
