About Me

I'm a 28 year old easy-going, happy, partying Colombian. I appear to be calm and even shy, but after talking with me, you can realize it's totally the opposite.

I'm currently doing a Postcolonial Studies MA in London, which gives me the opportunity of travelling around the UK and Europe. I am a very political person, who likes to have good conversations about the world. I love Harry Potter, football (soccer), The Beatles and house/techno parties. I'm kind of a geek, I am a feminist and I am currently transitioning to veganism.

The last couple of years I have been travelling with my beautiful girlfriend Diana (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/dianama) both within Colombia and abroad. In less than two years we’ve been to Ecuador, Brazil, the UK, Belgium and California. I feel really lucky to find a woman that shares with me the love of traveling and someone with whom I can spread love to the world: it is necessary on this difficult world we live right now! We are currently living in different countries and we're planning new trips to meet us up and get to know new people: we’re thinking going in September to Berlin, Barcelona, Lisbon, Santorini...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Luckily I've been able to surf a lot all across Europe, and I've met persons that are unbelievable awesome. Now I have a lot of friends, with whom I still talk even though we're far, and some have even visited me in Colombia. I owe the world a lot of hosting, which I hope to return once I go back home.

I currently can't offer a couch, but I love to meet people and to show my current city, so if you're here we should hang out :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used CS when travelling with Colombian friends all across Europe. Basically, we've found hosts from Budapest to Russia. All of them are awesome, and without them, the travels would not have been the same. Together we made a whole cultural experience that is not possible to make in a ho(s)tel.

Couches I've surfed:
-Budapest, Hungary: Zsofi
-Katowice, Poland: Ola
-Berlin, Germany: Luka
-Amsterdam, Netherlands: Cees
-Kaunas, Lithuania: Sarunas
-Vilnius, Lithuania: Renata
-Riga, Latvia: Walter
-Tallin, Estonia: Fayder
-Helsinki, Finland: Arto
-St Petersburg, Russia: Filo (and Boris)
-Moscow, Russia: Gendrik
-Düsseldorf, Germany: Piotr (and Stefan)
-Cheltenham, United Kingdom: Louis
-Sevilla, Spain: Manuel

Surfers I've hosted:
-Barto, Mexico
-Hjalte, Denmark
-Sarunas, Lithuania

In the previous version of CS I had links to their profiles, it was easier! You can see them here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/3987192/profile/legacy

Anyway, most of them left me references :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: fantastic literature like Harry Potter, detective and mystery such as Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, and dystopic stories like 1984 (old school, not so much the young adult that is popular these days).
Recently I have become interested in discovering postcolonial authors and stories of a non-western perspective, so every recommendation is welcomed!

Music: I've always been a huge fan of classic rock and indie, but lately I've discovered the charm of the house and techno world. Ultimately, I enjoy every kind of music in its own way, and I really love going to concerts and festivals to discover new artists.

Movies: among my favourites are Little Miss Sunshine, Fight Club and Big Fish, but I'm more a Tv Show kind of person.

Tv Shows: Brooklyn Nine-Nine! The Good Place, Scrubs, Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oktoberfest!
Following J.K. Rowling on a literature festival to sign my book
COACHELLA (twice now)

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't consider myself a good teacher, but I love to share everything of what I'm passionate about: the peace process in Colombia, tv shows, football (soccer) leagues and teams, music festivals...

I'm very eager to learn about anything you have to share with me! I love to learn new things every day
