About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To visit 50 countries before I turn 40.
ABOUT ME
Hey Surfers! I'd say I am a laid back, fun and outgoing person. I'm curious by nature and I love to try new things and have new experiences. I really enjoy meeting new people and making them feel at home. I am a teacher, traveler, friend, sister, and the one in the group who always dances to bad top 40 music.
PHILOSOPHY
You only get one try at life, make it count.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm not new to hosting people in my home, but I have only hosted a few through CS. I love to have company and just meet new people in general. One of my favorite things about travelling is hanging out with locals and actually learning about the place that I'm visiting.
I also love to open my home to people who have things to share and teach me.
Interests
Sailing: I love to sail and race sailboats.
Road-tripping: I have driven across the US, coast to coast, 4 times. North to South a bunch of times, and into Canada a few times.
Being active: I am very curious and I love to be outdoors. I like hiking and camping and seeing new things. I'll try pretty much any activity.
Being lazy: I've been known to sit on the couch all day. Sometimes you gotta just recharge.
Planning: I love to plan everything from big trips to post-work happy hours. I typically find myself being in charge of planning even if I try not to be.
Being spontaneous: This is what life is all about right? While I'm a planner at heart, sometimes an cool opportunity is just too good to pass up even if it goes against my plan.
Travel: This one is kind of obvious. I've been to 38 countries (as of when I am writing this) and I hope to go to 38+ more! I want to see and learn about the world.
History and Anthropology: I'm a nerd.
I guess I can be a bit of a contradiction.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I enjoy movies, but I'm generally not a movie buff. I didn't see Top Gun until I was 21 which is a crime for an American.
Books: I generally like historical fiction and fantasy, but nothing too weird.
Music: Pretty much everything, except that loud metal stuff. I am even coming around to country music which is a very strange thought for me. Anything live, no matter how bad it is.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. The first time I drove across the USA. I drove from New York to the coast of Oregon and the experience of seeing the country was life changing.
2. Jumping out of an airplane. No explanation needed.
3. When I went to a bull fight in Spain and I walked in to the arena as they were killing the first bull. I didn't know they killed the bulls, now I do.
4. Living abroad...
Teach, Learn, Share
I think people spend a lifetime looking for what makes them happy. I am lucky enough to have found it. Learning. If someone can teach me something, show me something or give me a different viewpoint, I am happy. There's something to learn from everyone, so I am generally a pretty happy person :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A fun, open personality and a genuine curiosity to learn about your home and hopefully make a new friend.
