Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be more creative in general, to travel more, to learn new things.
ABOUT ME
I try to be the best I can. I'm definitely open-minded and tolerant, I feel at least I'm trying to be. I'm mostly calm and easy-going, sometimes a bit moody and sensitive, but never high maintenance. I'm a good listener and I don't like to be in the centre of attention. I think I have a wicked sense of humour.
I like beautiful things. I know that sounds corny, but I don't necessarily mean that in terms of colourfulness, symmetry, vividness, elegance or similar. I do like all of that, but I'm also easily fascinated by darkness, filth, horror, disorder, etc. Especially combined with a sort of charm and solemnity. Like H.R. Giger's art, for example. I like that. And I like ruins. Any kind of dirty abandoned and ruined buildings or structures. If I were a skilled photographer I would travel the world in search of fascinating ruins.
I guess I should describe myself as a quite visually oriented person - I do all the stuff that I believe is associated with that: I love art, I'm obsessed with cinema, I don't particularly care for music unless it evokes an interesting sequence of images in my head, I can fall in love hopelessly at first sight and I'm a bit of a voyeur.
PHILOSOPHY
(Don't) treat others the way you (don't) want to be treated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the moment I will only be 'begging' for a couch and I won't be able to offer one. But I'll be moving soon. Then it will be possible for me to host as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to couchsurfing. I never stayed at or hosted a complete stranger before, I did however host a few times some friend of a friend of a friend. Once in my previous apartment I hosted a young girl from Uruguay. She arrived rather late in the evening and had to leave quite early next day. So there wasn't enough time to get to know each other better. We did however watch a film before going to sleep and next day I accompanied her to the embassy to get a visa. She said goodbye with a smile and a hug so I guess I was a good host. :)
Anyways... I do want to make new experiences in this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some time ago I attended an autopsy of an older man who drowned in his own tub. But never mind that. What was more fun was the time a friend and I went up to mount Tai in China. It took us the whole day to climb more than 7000 stone steps. Up there we barely found the smallest room available for 100 yuan (way too much for 2 square meters). After only 3 hours of sleeping we woke up extremely early to take part in the famous watching of the sunrise, only to realize it was too cloudy and we couldn't see anything. Afterwards we took the steps down again and continued with our trip. It was a great day. Oh, and we also climbed the Great Wall.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to practice my English and Italian or to upgrade the basics of French, German and Spanish. I also want to exchange cultural knowledge.
To all of people who hated maths in school, I just want to say, try not to let your kids become the same! Mathematics is not some scary monster that won't ever come in handy in life. Just the opposite. With the right attitude it can quite simply be one the easiest subjects in high school.
