My name is Lucy, and this is my first big partially solo overseas trip!
Im 21 and next year i will be starting University doing a degree in Psychology. I love meeting new people, and i think thats one of the best things about travelling, which is why i wanted to go and get out into the world.

I grew up in a small town outside of Sydney Australia, and moved to Sydney a few years ago. Family is extremely important to me, as are friends, and i love the idea of getting to make some new ones.

I love adventure and exploring new places, and i'll pretty much be up for anything that involves learning something new about where i am. Whether be it a museum, a walk or a hike, hanging out with new people or seeing music etc.

Im very approachable and love to have fun, im always up for a good conversation over a drink, sharing stories or life experiences or going out to somewhere new and exciting.
Im really excited to be expanding my world view and experiencing different countries, people and cultures, and i plan in the future to move from Australia somewhere overseas.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything that happens has a message or a lesson, and gives you a chance to grow in ways you couldn't imagine before.
Life is short, so get out there and spread love and happiness around wherever you can, and don't take the world too seriously.

I was recommended by my boyfriend who is part of this awesome community. I think couch surfing is such a great idea, because you get to meet new people instantly, and get a little insight into how people in that country live. Also you get to give a little bit back to those you are staying with, and share where you are from and your experiences.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love all kinds of music, i was brought up in a very musical home with my dad being a professional saxophonist, and my mum being the editor of a music magazine. Some of my all time favourite bands are Lake Street Dive, Hiatus Kaioyte, Matt Corby, Fat Freddy's Drop, Flight of the Concords, Miguel etc I could go on for days!

I love a good movie, whether it be an indie film, drama or adventure, really any film is fine. I love Lord of the Rings as my family is from New Zealand, so it would be a crime not to!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

For me so far, this trip has been one amazing thing.

Ive flown the 17 hours from Australia to Idaho, taken a live transport truck from Idaho, through Montana and Wyoming and across the Canadian border to Table, Alberta with a dog called Whiskey (who farted a lot..).
Ive camped in the wilderness next to incredible lakes and mountains, lazed around in completely natural hot springs, jumped into freezing cold glacial lakes and pushed my comfort boundaries in ways i didn't know i could!

I know heaps of cool random animal facts!
But i will also be an open ear to anyone who might want or need it. Becoming a counsellor is a huge and very personal goal of mine, and ive done a lot of work in getting very good at giving sound advice, but only when requested!
Life experiences are always fun to share, and i've had some pretty ridiculous ones!
I just love spreading the joy around, so hopefully ill be able to bring some of that with me too.
