I live in Bristol where I work as a private Maths tutor and am part way through studying for an MA in Philosophy. I love festivals and parties and generally going out to have fun - the music and arts scene here in Bristol is excellent! I'm originally from a small village in the North of England, where I now find respite when I need a break from the city. I'm passionate about my studies and hope to continue with Philosophy and have a career in academia. Of course I also like to travel a lot and have found couchsurfing to be the best way to do that and meet people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music but reggae/dub has to be the best for any time of the day or night. When I'm out I like drum and bass or occasionally psy-trance, but not as much as when I was younger! I also like rock music and have been trying to learn to play guitar. Books, I read a lot of Philosophy/Science things for my course but also really like dark and harrowing Russian novels - lots by Dostoevsky. A more modern favourite of mine is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, it's beautiful! I'm not that much of a movie person but I do sometimes like to watch them, gritty British films are the best. Withnail and I, This is England, Snatch are a few of my favourites.
