New to couchsurfing but hoping to have some great experiences! I'm currently living in Madrid but I am originally from Wales. Im fluent in both English and Welsh and am happy to teach both of these. Im attempting to learn Spanish pero mi Español es muy malo. I went to a private school in the small town of Monmouth and attempted university in London. I trained for 10 years in a junior conservatoire studying classical Voice and also have training in ballet, piano and sarcasm. I'm a clean, considerate person who loves to explore new places and would like to go on as many adventures as I can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience on this site was a bad one with my host claiming that this was a "dating website" and then throwing me out because I refused to have sex with him.
Luckily I managed to find someone else very last minute who really helped me out- David, you're a life saver- and my trip ended as a good one.
I have tried to not let this damage my confidence- I still believe that there are good people out there but I am definitely much more cautious now.
Maybe my optimism and naivety can sometimes come across as "stupidity" but I'm hoping that my faith and trust in good people will lead me to meet some lovely folk!

**UPDATE** I just came back from my second couch surfing experience and it was absolutely amazing!! My host was so kind and so friendly and throughout the entirety of my trip I felt safe, comfortable and very very happy.

Interests

My interests lie in curiosity itself. I love to Learn and to discover and I'm hoping that this journey that I'm on will strengthen me as a person.
I'm interested in happiness and this journey is my pursuit of that.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC - I have very diverse tastes in music. Modern pop isn't really my thing but I can try to appreciate it. My passion lies with Jazz and classical music with a secret love of musical theatre. Modern Artists such as Lucy Rose, Nina Nesbitt and Ben Howard are truly amazing while Jazz legends Jamie Cullum, Norah Jones and Renee Olstead hold the keys to my heart. I'd be happy to share my diverse music tastes with you and would love to hear some of your favourites too!!

BOOKS - As far as books go, I can't say I read all that much which is a tragedy really but I would love some suggestions.

MOVIES - Love a good action movie but I can't say I've got any stand out favourites, although V for Vendetta is always a good watch.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Madrid I look after three small children which has given me a kind heart and a lot of patience. I'm also teaching a handful of students English as a second language. Being an English teacher here in Spain is amazing and if you'd like some help with your English too I would be more than happy to help!!

Sadly I am probably the worst cook ever but I am an excellent dish-washer-upper and am more than happy to be directed in the kitchen by chopping up any veg or whatever haha. I'm not bad at baking so if you're lucky enough I might whip up some of my famous cupcakes!

I'd love to learn more about the people and places I'm visiting so if you're free at all it'd be nice if we could spend some time learning about the similarities and differences we share.
