Hi everyone!
My name is Lucy and I'm a 20 year old college student studying Russian and African American history. I'm originally from New York but I went to college in Minnesota. I just graduated in June 2018 and the next step for me is moving to Bosnia in September for 3 months to intern at a media nonprofit writing about government corruption in Eastern Europe.

I joined Couchsurfing awhile ago but I only started using it a few years ago. I used it for the first time during the winter of 2017, while I was interning at an archaeological archive in Richmond, VA, and I had a super positive experience with both of my hosts there. I'd love to open up my home one day (once I move into my own apartment!) and host people from around the world. I travelled a bunch growing up and I still do, and love meeting people from around the world and learning about different cultures. Also, having found myself in some sticky situations while travelling internationally before (like being without a place to stay for the night, etc.), I appreciate all the people who hosted me—on Couchsurfing or otherwise—when I really needed it! Would love to pay that forward one day.
