Overview
About Me
Nick and Lucy
We like to think we are a pretty typical New Zealand couple - relaxed, friendly and open-minded.
We get along really well with most people and enjoy meeting new people, especially those with backgrounds different from our own. Both of us love to talk, often at the same time.
Nick is the hyperactive one who always has to be doing something, where as Lucy is more likely found sitting on the beach reading a sci-fi book (or napping), but with a bit of persuasion is up for an adventure.
We are currently enjoying not working, living the dream - taking each day as it comes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Nick and I are currently travelling the world for 7 months.
We are looking to stay with locals in California and Central America before we hit up Cuba, the UK (for the Rugby world cup of course) before we start our jobs as chalet hosts in the French Alps.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lucy - once upon a time I worked in a meat works, as a part-time model, tv presenter and more recently advertising exec. I've been a national champion sports player and the scariest thing I've done was kayak off a 10m waterfall. I've also sky dived, swum with dolphins, walked with elephants and drunk a yardie in 2 minutes flat.
Nick - I've lived in a hut for 3 months with no power, water or cooking facilities, stayed in a hippy commune and on a remote volcanic island as well as at Oxford. I've swung off a home built 40m rope swing, sailed the Great Barrier Reef, sky dived, I fly paragliders, huck jumps on both bike or snowboard, I've kayaked money drop (google it), ran a marathon and have never broken a bone. Oh... and i have met the queen.
Teach, Learn, Share
We both think we know everything... nah jokes.
Nick has a background in environmental management and kayak guiding and enjoys discussing nature and the impact of humans.
Lucy has a background in Classical studies and history and turns into a handy tour guide through museums and art galleries.
We both enjoy learning new things - as we've found each day travelling provides insight into other people's worlds.
