About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Browsing the snack selections from markets across west africa

ABOUT ME

I'm a 27 aussie girl that has decided a year off work traveling around the world would be much more fun then doing responsible things like buying a house. And I must say I'm absolutely loving it!

I think I'm pretty easy going most of the time and love having a bit of fun. If you ran into me somewhere its pretty likely that I would quickly manage to steer the conversation towards what books you have just finished reading and some embarrassing thing which I have recently done.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined up and started surfing while on this current trip overseas so I'm still getting the hang of it but I love being able to meet up with people who live locally and experience a country through their lives instead of just sitting in a hostel talking to other travellers. When I get back to Aust I'm relying on hosting people through couch surfing to help me feel like I'm still travelling as well as showing them why I love Australia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience has been fantastic. It was great to have someone full of experience and advice to help me deal with my first few days of getting to grips with Africa and it's been even better getting to know my host as a friend and spending time with her as I've travelled in and out of Accra.

Music, Movies, and Books

moved on from my sherlock holmes kick to wodehouse but the women in white is one of my all time favourites

too much music to list but fun indie music covers most of it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite experiences was the surreality of spending a day driving across the salar uyuini with the sky reflected in the water. Other favorite experiences are being the only person at the wonderfully wild and remote beaches of W.A. and seeing some local voodoo celebrations in Benin

But a nice smile and laugh with the ladies at the marker selling fruit and the mamas squashed up next to me in a share taxi is pretty special too

Teach, Learn, Share

I tried to pick up some french in benin and togo but that wasn't a complete success, hoping to have a basic grasp by the end of this trip though

Can't say I have any special skills apart from scrounging around an almost empty fridge to come up with pretty tasty vego meals...a gatherer
