Hi there! We are Lucy and Ian, Portlanders who like eating great food, traveling, the arts, language learning, and exploring the outdoors. We're on Couchsurfing because we have so much fun hosting international travelers.

About Us:

-We love great food wherever it's found, from street food to Michelin-starred restaurants. Ian eats anything and is a great cook, Lucy's vegetarian and is in charge of baking.

-We also love good wine, beer, and cider, and can point you towards some local varieties to try.

-Like all Couchsurfers, we love to travel. Our most recent trip was to Japan, where we loved the food, onsen, and mountain regions.

-Getting outdoors is always great (when it's not raining too hard around here). Summer will find us hiking, backpacking, and camping as often as we can. Lucy packs the essentials; Ian invariably adds a bottle of wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We've both surfed and hosted, and the highlight is always meeting interesting people from all over the world. From attending weddings in Kolkata to playing telephone with Japanese kids and showing off Portland's highlights, we always have a great time and learn something new.

Interests

-Cooking, dining out, and eating in general

-Games (Card games, dorky board games, etc.) we're always looking for an excuse to play Dominion, Pandemic, Citadels, Carcassonne or Last Night on Earth.

-Traveling

-Biking, hiking, and getting outdoors

-Reading (sad to have just finished the last Murakami novel, and am now working my way through Harry Potter in French -- slowly.)
