ABOUT ME

I work with an incredible NGO called 'Ba Futuru' For the Future doing peace building and non violence workshops, particularly in Child protection, conflict transformation, human rights and trauma healing.
I have been stuck with the travel bug for the last 8 years which has conveniently allowed me to skip all of those previous Melbourne winters (it doesn't snow but its still damn cold). Living in Timor has mixed up my sense of identity but given me a sense of belonging in a new and vibrant culture.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's always best to meet a new city through local insight. As my most recent home I love to show people the jewel that Timor Leste is and hope in my travels to meet people equally excited about sharing the secrets and nuances of where they live. My English is slowly deteriorating, I'm often in the rural districts and my lack of reliable internet in Dili means I may not get back to you straight away but I am very keen to meet any one interested in checking out Timor and hopefully can help you see experience some of the amazing aspects which have sucked me, and so many others, in.

Another note.. because my internet is diverted from outside of Timor-Leste I have no way of producing a Timorese flag on your home page. Apologies!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been informally hosting and surfing on couches for years. Because of the number of people coming in and out of Timor we may or may not have space available but please ask!

Good food and good wine. Anthropology, history, linguistics, politics anything incredibly geeky. Costume parties, dancing that results in exorbitant amounts of sweat, art and craft with my neighbours' kids.
