About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep exploring America! After more than three years in Canada, I now live in Argentina. I am currently backpacking across Patagonia, and can't host at the moment.

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Brittany, France. I have traveled a lot across Europe with my family when I was a kid and teenager. It's probably from there that comes my strong interest in languages and cultures. I now work as a translator, which I really enjoy. After living in vibrant Catalunya for three years, I decided to move to Canada and thought I'd call Vancouver my home. That was more than three years ago. I try to make the most of my time and I'm always up for a hike, a camping trip or anything that keeps me active.

I miss Europe and I'm certainly in love with British Columbia, but I'm already thinking of the next place I'll call home... and that is Argentina! I'll be moving to Buenos Aires in November 2018, and plan to explore various areas in Argentina for at least a year. After that, the idea is to backpack across South America and to slowly make my way home in Vancouver.

Routine is not an option for me and each time a situation gets too comfortable I decide it's time to go for my next adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

No plan is the plan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurfed for the first time in Vancouver and it was a great experience. After that, I was really happy to share my place, and I spend an awesome summer discovering Vancouver with great couchsurfers. I can't host for now, unfortunately, but I'm still interested in meeting other Couchsurfing members and fellow travelers. I think it's an awesome place to meet people with similar interests and get to do fun stuff together. I also believe it is the best way to learn about a country, region or city.

Interests

I spend most of my time having fun with my friends, and trying to make new ones. I love traveling, I am passionate about languages and interested in photography. Being French, I obviously have a passion for food. I am vegetarian and I love to cook, especially spicy food and pastries. I enjoy sharing delicious meals and some good wine/craft beer with friends. I've always lived near an ocean or the sea, so I love the water and swimming. I also enjoy hiking, climbing and discovering the mountains. I am always up to try new and exciting things and I hope to experience a lot of them in the following years!

Other than that, I'm always dreaming of my future travel destinations and I'm hoping that one of my next trips will take me across Russia and Mongolia. I also want to spend quite a bit of time in South America.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to rock, folk, indie bands and French music. I also enjoy a good book and watching movies (comedies, dramas and movies about travelling!) and shows (New Girl, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Orange Is the New Black among others).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking and hitchhiking in Iceland (September 2014)
A road trip across the West Coast of the USA (January 2016)
A surprise, unexpected swim with dolphins near Big Island, Hawaii (Spring 2017)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some French, would definitely love to learn about your language (especially if it's Portuguese) and I think food should always be shared.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Late night discussions, tips about awesome places in Vancouver and BC and, if you're lucky, crêpes for breakfast.
