ABOUT ME

Hi! My name's Ludmila.

I'm a 24 year old Canadian from Vancouver currently backpacking in South America. My mother is from Guatemala and my dad is from Slovakia and I was raised in Seattle/Vancouver. I studied at the University of British Columbia and lived in Barcelona for one year during my undergrad. I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures and languages. I like to try to learn to speak every language possible while I travel, even if it's just a few words or phrases. If I come visit you chances are I'm going to end up bugging you to teach me bits and pieces of your language, just because I love to learn.

I am a vegetarian (mostly vegan but I make exceptions) and a caffeine addict. I really enjoy cooking and baking, and would love being taught by others, particularly my hosts, how to make cultural dishes while I travel. I sing and play guitar and ukulele for fun, and am trying to get back into drawing and photography as they make me incredibly happy! I am an activist and am very passionate about social justice.

I recently started a new South American adventure in September 2014 and I am just brimming with excitement for all the beautiful memories to come! Hope to meet you on my journey in some part of the world :)

I am just a little ant on the face of a speck of dust suspended in an seemingly endless abyss, trying to find meaning in the little things and doing what I can to make my little world a nicer place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted in the past and really enjoyed it. It depends on my situation, currently I live with my partner and a roommate and we don't have the most ideal hosting set up but in the future that may change! I am more than happy to meet up with travellers for drinks or food or even a nice long walk.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined Couchsurfing in 2010 while I was living in Barcelona, Spain and have since had several incredible experiences, both hosting and surfing. I am eager to continue to have more enriching experiences with the help of CS when I travel through South America in the fall of 2014.
