Traveling in foreign countries can be boring: you go in a hostel, hang out with people from other countries, ask the same questions & drink beer at the bar.
Couchsurfing is a great way to live something local and genuine. Because in my view the way local people live is the most interesting fact to learn if you wanna know a country.
Also, getting trust from unknown people and giving them back should be the way we meet people every day.
