Hello! I’m Luis, born and raised in Palma de Mallorca, Spain 🌞🌊.

I’m an enthusiastic, curious, and open-minded person. I’ve studied a Bachelor’s in Physics and completed a Master’s degree in Complex Systems, but I have a deep love for learning in general. Whether it’s history, art, philosophy, or any other subject, I believe that “anything properly explained is interesting!” 🧠🎨

In terms of job experience, I’ve worked in research focused on physics, mathematics, and complex systems 🔬📊. Additionally, I’ve taught mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English at an academy and as a private tutor 📚✏️. I’ve spent several summers working on sailing boats, participating in long trips and races 🚤⛵. During that time, I followed the captain’s orders, did night watches, and handled cooking and cleaning duties. I also worked in a supermarket 🛒 which was a very enriching experience.

I feel very passionate about nature and sports 🌿🏄‍♂️. I’ve competed in sailing, Muay Thai, longboarding (downhill and freeride), and skateboarding. I enjoy rock climbing, psicoblock, and slacklining (including highlining). Snorkelling and mountain biking are other activities I love, and I’m always excited for more time on the snowboard 🏂. I’ve tried surfing a few times and am eager to keep improving 🌊!

Beyond sports, I have a strong interest in spirituality. I’ve been practising yoga and Vipassana meditation (as taught by S.N. Goenka) for several years 🧘‍♂️. I’m open to learning from all religions and spiritual traditions, and I find the insights from different paths truly fascinating 🌸.

Lastly, as you can probably guess since I’m here, I’m passionate about travel! ✈️ I love discovering new cultures—the history, food, and traditions that make each place unique 🌍. Meeting new people is one of the most enriching parts of travelling, as there’s always something to learn from others. I truly believe that the openness and perspective travel brings are invaluable 🌏.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m passionate about travelling the world 🌍, but for me, it’s not just about seeing new places—it’s about connecting with people 🤝. I believe that staying with locals and meeting fellow travellers is incredibly enriching. It offers a deeper, more authentic experience of a place and its culture 🌿🏡.

In 2024-2025, I’m embarking on a new adventure, starting in Nepal 🇳🇵 with just my backpack and an open heart. I’ll be following wherever life takes me, and I’m excited to meet amazing people along the way ✨. I can’t wait to share experiences, stories, and insights that CouchSurfing makes possible.

MUSIC
I’m open to almost every genre of music 🎶, but lately, I’ve been listening mostly to hip-hop (both Spanish and English), reggae, and chill music. And of course, there’s my dad’s music, which I like to call “80’s music” 😅—a classic part of my playlist.

MOVIES

I love reading 📚, especially essays and non-fiction. One author who has had a big influence on me is Yuval Noah Harari, with his books Sapiens, Homo Deus, 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, and Nexus. TEACH
I’m passionate about learning—whether it’s intellectual topics or hands-on, acrobatic skills! 🎓🤸‍♂️

On the intellectual side:
I’ve spent a lot of time studying Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science during my university years. I’m a bit of a geek, and I love teaching or chatting about any of these topics 🤓.

On the acrobatic side:
I can teach basic juggling, slacklining, climbing, kendama, and other sports-related skills. I’m no expert, but I can definitely help beginners get started! 🎪🧗‍♂️

In day-to-day life:
I’m really into productivity and organization (thanks to my studies), and I’d love to share tips or tools that have helped me stay on track 📋📈.

And lastly, one of my biggest passions is spirituality. While I don’t have formal training, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned through personal experience. I can guide yoga or meditation practices 🧘‍♂️, and I’m happy to share any insights I’ve picked up along the way.
