About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Trying to see a fraction of the world, get some perspective, meet some great people. Just simply enjoy life and the everyday.
ABOUT ME
Book-ish, creative, calm., easy going. I like to explore and learn as much as is possible. I was originally born in Bogota, Colombia but moved to the United States when I was very small so I'm a mixture of two very rich cultures and speak both English and Spanish well. I work in the arts (Theatre to be specific) and I specialize in bringing education and theatre together. I've worked on a couple of touring shows for English learners in the past couple of years and have been able to travel thanks to that.
PHILOSOPHY
One of the most important things that I have learned thus far is that there is only one life (That we know of), on the grand scale it's really not a very long life, and therefore it's crucial that we live that life full of happiness, and experience as many wonderful things as possible. As my grandmother always says "Experiences and the memory of the foods you eat can't be taken away from you" Perspective can be hard to get when you live in a society where career and status are so important, I'm just hoping to slip through the cracks and experience as many sights, sounds, tastes, and smells as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been on the move quite a lot so I have been unable to host anyone in a while but I have been lucky to have been hosted and also to have met many wonderful travelers along my path that have really helped me out. I try to participate by meeting other travelers and sharing and learning from each other.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met so many cool and interesting people on Couchsurfing as a host, by being hosted, or by attending events in the cities I'm in. It's also been a great source for information sharing and question asking.
Interests
Interested in all forms of art be it theater, opera, dance, film, painting, architecture etc... Specifically a huge film buff. Can talk about films for days and days! Currently, I'm very much into Lynch and Kieslowski. I'm also currently very nature-oriented, I enjoy trekking and exploring nature in the cities that I visit. Often picking destinations based heavily on nature. I love the city life but I am currently more in love with what nature has to offer.
I also enjoy reading and meditating. I have begun a Vipassana practice and I'll read just about anything that is recommended with conviction.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies...is there enough space here for me to geek out?! Well, my favorite directors in no particular order are Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Woody Allen, Brian DePalma, David Lynch, Ozu, just to name a few. Love the Criterion Collection and if you know what that is I'm sure we will be very good friends. My music tastes are so random and eclectic, like most people, but I am always looking for new sounds to add to my travel playlist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to travel to South America doing theatre for kids and teaching them English, This is where I caught my travel bug.
Teach, Learn, Share
I suppose I can always teach and talk about theatre and film. And I guess because I'm bilingual I can always help you out with your Spanish and vice versa!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A smile, a good conversation, and many travel anecdotes.
