About Me

I am a Mexican student of architecture currently living in Monterrey, Mexico; the third largest city of the country. I love traveling and trying out new things from different cultures. I am currently learning German at school, and would like to improve on that language. I have learned French in the past, so a little catching up on that would be nice, too. Drawing is my favorite hobby. I also like writing, and, to a lesser extent, reading. I'm really outgoing, easy to talk to, and super open-minded; my favorite topics to talk about are politics, philosophy, literature, or pretty much anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of staying in with a local as opposed to in a hotel, because you get to meet new people and get a crash course on the culture. You can also save up on cash which is always nice. I think as a Mexican guy, I got a lot of culture to share. I will be going to Germany later this month (May) to learn German at a language school, and would like to visit some places around the Black Forest region.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to rock music, especially classic rock and somewhat old music. Queen is my favorite band in the world. Billy Joel is also great. I've been listening a lot of Jake Bugg recently; I think his music has this really cool 60s charm to it. Currently, I listen to Tame Impala, too. Twenty one pilots is also pretty cool. Green Day was my favorite band growing up. I like kitschy 80s tunes too. I don't read that much, but among my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, Las batallas en el desierto, and La muerte de Artemio Cruz. I also like The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I like to watch movies, too; especially Mexican cinema: El castillo de la pureza; Mariana, Mariana; La dictadura perfecta, etc.
