About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To improve myself physically, emotionally, and socially by helping others and learning from others experiences.

ABOUT ME

Hello, I just got back from living in Seoul for the past four months. I spent almost every Friday night with an awesome community of couchsurfers. I am extremely new to this. So, I am really sorry if I come off as rude because I am not communicative, but I promise it's because I am nervous about meeting scary people who the people from my small little town are always telling me lurk on sites like couchsurfing. I am trying to be more open minded and trusting. lol.
So, please give me any advice and suggestions. It will be greatly appreciated.

In December, I will graduate with a bachelor's of science. It's a degree that consists of three minors instead of one major; Engineering, Mathematics, and English Literature. Hopefully, I will obtain a MFA for film directing after graduation.

I was born in Naples, Florida, grew up in downtown Chicago, and have lived in Longview, Texas since 2001.

Last year I went on a school trip through Greece for 15 days or so. It was a Bible class, so we went to all these biblical sites... So, I'd like to go again to actually befriend locals and enjoy the country.

I lived near Gimhae, South Korea for two months last year. That was really awesome. I got to live with a close friend and her family. So, I learned quite a lot about the culture and the language. When I was extremely young I lived in Morocco for three months, I'd like to go again because I can barely remember the trip. The same occurred with Honduras. I have visited family in Mexico many times.

Hopefully, I can travel to several more countries in the future because I enjoy learning different languages, cultures, and mindsets.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be a source of Positive Energy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had such a great time meeting so many different kinds of people while I was in Seoul. Everyone was so friendly and interesting and adventurous. So, I would love to keep meeting new people and learning about their experiences. I haven't been hosted or hosted anyone yet.

Interests

I am more artsy and theatrical than most of the people I know in my town, but not as artsy and theatrical as theatre majors I have met. lol.

Talking to me about sports creates this involuntary reaction of my ears suddenly tuning out...

I don't mind trying to play tennis... I am terrible at it, but I actually like trying to play. lol.

My humor and friendship is pretty caustic... My family and I enjoy chiding each other and we live the expression "tough love". So, if you don't like being teased please tell me clearly, so I don't accidentally disrespect you.

I am pretty much an open book. So, feel free to ask me anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two years ago I saved a thousand dollars to produce and direct a short eight minute film I wrote. I wasn't proud of the finished product because but I am proud that I completed the project. This probably doesn't qualify as amazing... So, I am sorry..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share the crazy and racist people I have met as a Mexican-American living in East Texas.

I can teach you the little I know about film, math, engineering, and English literature, and spanish.

I would love to learn anything you are willing to share with me. Even sports if you really want to teach me this mysterious thing... lol.
