ABOUT ME

Fellow Humans (and non humans, too),

If you are reading this, it may mean two things : a) you are considering traveling to Mexico, or b) you are wondering whether or not, you should accept my CS request.

If your answer is a)

Welcome to Mexico. This is a wonderful country full of surprises and colors. I hope your stay here becomes one of your most memorable experiences. I will be happy to show you around and/or host you.

If you answer is b) let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Mexico City, but I lived in the US for more than 5 years to study seismology at UCLA in 2006. I lived in the Los Angeles, a very cosmopolitan city, full of cars but also full of stories from people around the world.

I am an eco-friendly person, I barely use a car or waste water, or food. I like exploring new places, specially uncommon places. While living in California I found many great places that only few people know about it. Now, that I am back in Mexico I would like to show other people that Mexico city is not only made of asphalt, cars and pollution but that there are many other places that you can enjoy even inside the city.

PHILOSOPHY

As I look back on my past and consider my future, I reflect on the fact that learning and sharing experiences from other people is one of the most rewarding aspects of life. I am always exited about what other people have to say how people from different countries and culture see their own life and other people lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like meet new people and walk around discovering new place even for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My Couchsurfing experience is relatively short but very rich. My first experience was during a bike trip in California. A friend of mine and I biked from Los Angeles to San Diego. Not a very long distance, but not short neither. We stayed one night in San Clemente, a small surf village, with an amazing host.

My second CS experience was in Japan. Many people offer me a piece of their home, culture and hearth ... I really appreciate all the hospitality I received during this trip. I wish a can give back some of the kindness, I had received.

Interests

I like running, swimming and biking in other words, I practice triathlon. I started recently, about 2 years ago, but I really love it. I also had run the L.A. marathon a very painful, but very rewarding experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a big fan of Asian films which are not common neither in Mexico or the US. My favorite ones are Oldboy, sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, the host, my sassy girl, Nada sou sou, Nabbie's love, ringu, battle royale ...

My favorite movie: Machete.

Books: Jules Verne's books. I also love classic books such as El Quijote.

Music: anything that sounds happy and cheerful, no matter the language or the rhythm ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2008, I visited the island of Svalbard north of Norway. This is the northern most city accessible by commercial plane. Although, there is not much to see over there was very exiting to get to know such a remote place (at least for me).

Teach, Learn, Share

I love earth and rocks, I can show you how a small peabble can tell you a lot about the earth.
