About Me

My name is Luisa,
I am a Colombian girl living currently in São Paulo. I have lived in Brazil for 2 years due to work reasons.
I like to travel a lot and make new friends around the world! I am a Civil Engineer that works in a multinational... this has gave me the opportunity to work daily with different cultures, sharing house with more than 10 people from different backgrounds.
I enjoy talking and sharing things about my country, I enjoy practicing sports and doing outdoor activities! One of my favorite things is to try new gastronomy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m living with my boyfriend and we both are passionate about traveling around the world.
I have personally travelled around South America and I have always heard about Couch surfing, and is a thing we would really like to try.
We have always try to find a place to stay using AirB&B platform, and sometimes it has worked to meet people around the world. Those times, were our best travel experiences..
So why not try something new?
We will like very much to receive people at our place but we are currently in a moving phase trying to establish ourselves in a definitely place. We know for sure that when we are established we would open our house to receive travellers around the world.

Interests

As a couple, my boyfriend and I are both Engineers (Chemical & Civil) and we have some shared interest as outdoor activities, travelling around the world, we both like to ride bikes, try local gastronomy and cook (we have our personal recipes book)
My boyfriend is obsessed with trying different types of beers around the world and he has a collection of shot glasses of every part of the world he has visited.
Regarding me, I Love reading and playing Volleyball, I really like to visit Art Museums and I like Photography and Dancing as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am absolutely in love with Harry Potter Books, but I also enjoy other type of literature. My favorite book of all times must probably be 1984 from George Orwell.
I enjoy cheerful music, I really like to dance, So I love Latin music such as Salsa and Merengue, Cumbia and Vallenato. I enjoy listening South American Rock groups such as Soda Stereo, Prisioneros, Vilma Palma, etc.
I am passionate too about classical Music. My boyfriend and I tend to go frequently to classical concerts and Operas.
Regarding movies, we like the Action ones and those movies based on real facts. we are currently addicted to series such as Game of Thrones and Daredevil

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing and crazy experience for me was to live for one year in a House with 13 people from different Countries.
We were 14 people in a house and we had to share everything and schedule our times to organize ourselves.
There were people from Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, India, Tunisia and Portugal. It was madness as there was a mixture of languages, cultures and religions. But looking backwards it was the best experience ever! I can say know that I had friends and family from almost all continents!

Teach, Learn, Share

As I say before I really like to introduce and teach something about my Country Colombia. I think that as a person that leave the country I am kind of an ambassador for my country and is my job to change the perspective people around the world have of Colombia.
History has affect us in bad way, but things have really change for us and is good to share this information.
Mostly I like to cook for people, I enjoy showing my gastronomy.
We both are willing to learn about cultures around the world, and share experiences will local people from the places we travel

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think we can share some cool travel experiences with hosts. When we have our own place, we can introduce you to some local activities, take you to important places and hopefully create friendships laces and maybe someday get to know the hometowns of people we receive.
