About Me

Origin story
I was born and raised in a small town in the north of Portugal, moved to Porto for uni, then worked a short time in Lisbon, before I got an internship at the European Parliament while finishing my masters. I moved back to Porto for a while after, but the economical crisis led me to be part of the Portuguese diaspora once again. I live in London now, not sure for how long.

I'm a political junkie and activist.I have a night job where I work on a week on/week off basis, which mean I have loads of free time to campaign for causes I believe in like environmental issues, immigration reform and civil rights.
I also like to travel around when I have time and money.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not currently hosting anyone since I moved to a tiny apartment in London, but I used to do it a lot when I lived in Porto and I still host when I'm there on holidays.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a lot of people visiting Porto before I did a cross country trip in the US and stayed with Couchsurfing members in Denver and San Francisco.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Animal House, Caddyshack, Spies Like Us and a lot more 80s comedies. I also dig a lot of documentaries and the occasional flop.
Series: The Boondocks, Venture Bros, Archer, BoJack Horseman, Rick and Morty
Books: Neuromancer, Confederacy of Dunces, The Dog of The South, A People's History of the US. Mostly everything from Hunter S Thompson, even when he was past his prime. Also, I like his spiritual heirs like Matt Taibbi and Mark Ames, specially The Divide and Going Postal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can learn loads of stuff, mostly about cooking and drinks. I don't know anything about gastronomy, although I love to eat and I'm a master at cleaning dishes.
