About Me
Hey - I'm Luise from Germany:)
I'm currently doing an Erasmus semester in Montpellier (France), but normally I'm studying for a Bachelor's degree in economics and French in Jena (Germany). I also work at the planetarium there, which is pretty awesome. Apart from that, I did a work and travel year after finishing school and traveled overland from Germany to Pakistan with friends - so I'm very familiar with all forms of travel - especially on a low budget :) I really like the cultural exchange and to be on the road, to meet new people and to give every day the chance to be an adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was travelling through the Middle East with my friends we used Couchsurfing a lot and made so many amazing experiences!! We got welcomed with open arms and such an hospitality I've never experienced before. Just because of all those amazing hosts it was possible for me to travel for such a long period and now I think it's my turn - I would really like to give somehting back and give other travellers the same opportunity to be welcomed in a new city or country as I experienced it:)
Interests
I'm really interested in backpacking with everything that goes with it - hitch hiking, camping, hiking, learning new languages, meeting new people from all over the world.
But apart from that, I really like to do yoga, go dancing, play the piano, go fishing, do handicrafts, reading a good book with a cup of tea, going out for walks in nature and hanging out with my friends:)

Music, Movies, and Books
I actually try to spend as little time as possible in front of the screen, but I'm always up for a round of Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean or How I Met Your Mother. Otherwise, I'm more of a literature person - and I really like to read everything from thriller and historical non-fiction books to poetry :) But I really like for example Marcel Proust, Fyodor Dostoevsky and Ernest Hemingway.
Also my taste in music covers a wide range of genres: from old school rap/ hip hop to techno or classical music :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best think I've done so far is of course my Work and Travel year with my friends from Germany and Finland. Especially Pakistan catched me.
But my favourite experiences so far are seeing fluorescent plankton in Iran and hiking to the Nangar Parbat base camp in Himalaya - that was totally awesome!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really interested in the cultural exchange and would really like to hear some of your travel stories and from your experiences. Maybe you can teach me something in your language, how to cook one of your traditional or/and favourite meals, dances or whatever you like but don't feel pressured :)
In return if you want I can teach you some German or we can just chatting about God and the world :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
It's totally up to you. If you feel like socializing and exploring the city, meeting new people and finding some nice spots to hang out I’m totally down for that. But If you only want to calm down and hang out for a while - than I can also offer you a hot shower, a cosy couch, working Wi-Fi and my Netflix account;)
