CURRENT MISSION

Write, write, write

ABOUT ME

A portuguese writer living in Lima since March 2012. I love to have Friends, travel and share experiences. Scuba dive, horse riding, mountaineering, traveling, cooking (people use to say I'm a good one) and, of course, I enjoy a good wine.
Philosophy, History, Anthropology and jockes: laughing chats and deep conversations.
Want more? See my profile in Facebook: www.facebook.com/luisnovais or my blog at www.novais.eu (both in portuguese)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I´m member I've been knowing amazing people through CS... actually I even got married with one of them :) I really recommend it to anyone who, as myself, enjoy to know the heart of the places where they are travelling and dislike the tipical mass tourism

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: depends on the moment.
Movies: Andrei Tarkovsky ones, The Seven Seal, Pulp Fiction, Babel, No Country for Old Man.
Books: Emily Bront, Tolstoi, Dostoievski, kafka, Virginia Woolf, Céline, Albert Camus, Jean paul Sartre, Garcia Marquez, José Saramago. Well, and since I am an author, could I say Luis Novais too?... not comparing me with the above ones, of course :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been in Machu Pichu doing the 4 nights/5 days trail of the Salkantay mountain.
In Amazonas river I discovered that you can swim in the middle of a school of piranhas without being their lunch, and on the contrary, they are delicious as lunch. Have an interesting story with an anaconda to tell too, not speaking on the crocodiles one...
I've been several times in several bottons of the sea. Once I've been swimming with a big turtle 35 meters deep in Cape Verde sea.
I´ve been living in the cave of a bedouin in Jordania desert and I'm sure that any of you had an African magician in the deep jungle reading your future in the bolls of a recently killed cock - I mean the animal, of course :)
