About Me

My name is Luka, I live on the second floor and I am currently on my gap decade. I'm loving it 😁
I come from a vineyard region and my childhood smells like walnut-trees.
Life is short, there is absolutely no guarantee for anyone to grow old and I think priorities are one of the most important things to have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience was travelling in New Zealand, where I accidently ended up couchsurfing once with another hitchhiker who invited me to join her, as i wouldn't make it to my next destination that evening. Our host had an adorable little house with walls full of maps and souvenirs and once he came back from work he took us out on his boat across a lake through an amazing creek with storks and herons.
In the end i was sitting there, watching the sunset, enjoying a cold beer and talking about travelling and the world with these two beautiful strangers i just met hours before.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite bands are Of Monsters and Men, Simon and Garfunkel, RedHotChiliPeppers, Coldplay, Cranberries, Mumford and Sons, Eddie Vedder, Modest Mouse , Shearwater, Radical Face, The Lumineers, Macklemore,
I don't like snobs that have to tell you how mainstream you are, only because you enjoy what's enjoyable for you :).
I also play some guitar myself and i used to play piano and percussion.
Now wanting to get a bit more into harmonica, as its so tiny and handy. Always keen to learn new stuff!

I grew up with the Harry Potter books and used to be really into Holocaust Literature.
I love finding a new book that makes you forget the world around you and gives you a new perspective on life that you never imagined.
Right now I am very eager and interested in Social Justice Issues and try to learn and adjust myself as much as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"A journey is best measured in friends made rather than miles travelled."
I think for me, the most amazing thing i have done is something that many couchsurfers on here have experienced as well:
The magic of the first big journey. Being young and leaving home to see how vast and beautiful the world is, how interesting and inspiring people can be, and to see you can accomplish things on your own. To make friends that will last a lifetime and to experience kindness when you simply show the best of yourself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you to ride the unicylce, fix a puncture, fold an origami-lily or how to not give a damn what people think haha
