About Me

Hello! I'm Lukas. I'm an artist, communication designer and activist from Melbourne. I love to contribute to making the world a better place using my art and design! I like to learn and am always keen for intellectually stimulating conversation or for getting creative and having fun!
I'm also an identical twin. My brother lives in Australia, he is married and is expecting his first child! I will soon be an uncle! I wonder if it will be twins?
I love my family and friends dearly, I love plants and animals, and I love to talk about great ideas and wonderful things! I look forward to meeting you, sharing some stories and sharing your home during my travels. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music

I love all kinds of world music, electronic music and experimental music. In particular I really love the music of Brazil and of West Africa! Batucada - Samba - Bossa Nova - Palm Wine Music - High Life - Ghanian! I like music that is a celebration of life, and I like music that is unique and interesting.

Books

I love hitchhikers guide to the galaxy! I love Herman Hesse's book, Demian. I'm also very interested in C G Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Joseph Bueys.

Film

Recently I watched a film called Embrace of the Serpant (2016). It's about the relationship of a German ethnobotanist and a native Amazonian Shaman as they both search for a sacred hewing plant. The film is both tragic and beautiful. I really loved it.
I also love Adam Curtis' documentary 'The Century of the Self' (2002) and Bernardo Bertolucci's film 'The Dreamers' (2003).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Vietnam, I caught a bus to the highlands of Dalat. I spoke a small amount of Vietnamese language. On the bus ride, I met a friend named Khanh (who spoke a small amount of English). We passed notes back and forth for the bus ride and exchanged details to continue practicing language. Two days later, Khanh invited me to his sisters wedding! It was a traditional Vietnamese Buddhist wedding in the coffee farming district of Di Linh. I spent three days living with the family, and spoke no English the entire time. Khanh even managed to teach me how to play Chinese chess without using language!
It was a wonderful experience. The world is full of very beautiful people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know quite a lot about nutrition and the health of the body and mind. If you would like to learn any yoga/breath techniques/alternative cures to health or good recipes for health food, I'd love to share with you!
I have been an artist for my whole life. If you would like to learn how to draw, or would like some inspiration, I have lots to offer!
I love to learn about anything and everything!

Although I don't have the wealth of money, I can offer you a wealth of inspiration, knowledge and creativity instead!
