When I am not travelling it is because I am planning my next trip or because I spent all my money during the last one. Well, from time to time it can happen that you will see me studying too ;)

Things I like:
+High mountains (Ironic twist of fate: I cannot bear high altitudes, but I lived 4 months at 3760 m haha - bad experience)
+Niko Pirosmani (georgian painter)
+The Metro of Moscow
+Sushi and Japanese food
+cool hats
+Don't get up too early
+Skyscrapers and modern architecture
+Tinku (indigenous dance of Bolivia)
+Good conversations

Things I don't like:
-Airplane seats which were designed for people without legs
-Cold winters
-Potato chips with vinegar (A part from this I really eat everything. The soup made of dehydrated llama meat that I tried tasted far better haha)

Cuando no estoy de viaje es porque estoy planificando el proximo o porque gasté toda mi plata en el viaje pasado. Bueno y a vez en cuando suele pasar que me ves estudiando ;)

-Asientos de avion que fueron diseñados para personas sin piernas
-El frío del invierno
-Papas fritas inglesas con vinagre (Como realmente todo salvo eso. La sopa de llama deshidratada que probé tenía un sabor mucho más refinado jaja)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I am travelling my approach is as follows:
What I am most interested in (even more then sightseeing) is how local people's life is like, what they think and how they view the world.
The best way to do so is talking and living with them for a while. So Couch Surfing seemed to be the ideal tool for me. By now I learned so much and met some really amazing persons which enriched my life.
I hope that I can host travelers soon too. I know that Couch Surfing schould go both ways - but there where I am living in this moment it is unfortunately impossible.

Cuando estoy viajando mi enfoque es lo siguiente:
Lo que a mi me interesa más (aun más que ver atracciones turísticas) es cómo es la vida de la gente local, qué piensa y cómo mira al mundo.
La mejor vía para lograr ello es vivir y hablar con ella por un tiempo.
Por ende me parece Couch Surfing como la herramienta ideal. Hasta ahora he aprendido muchísimo y he conocido a algunas maravillosas personas que realmente han enriquecido a mi vida.
Espero que pueda recibir tambien a viajeros en el porvenir. Sé que Couch Surfing debería funcionar de una manera recíproca - pero donde estoy viviendo actualmente es lamentablemente imposible.

Interests

As I am a quite passionate geography student I am used to seeing the world in a particular way. So don't be astonished if I ask you some very specific questions about the place/city where you live :)
On the one hand I am definitely into sports on the other hand not that much into watching matches on TV - I am more the crossing the Alps by foot kind of a guy (I did this last year)
My leisure time interests range from reading old novels and long distance running to enjoy the night life.
And I allways try to visit an exhibition of local art wherever I travel to.

Ya que soy un estudiante de geografía apasionado estoy acostumbrado a ver el mundo de una manera particular. Que no te extrañes cuando te pregunto algo muy específico sobre el lugar/la ciudad donde vives :)
Por un lado si me gusta definitivamente practicar deporte, por el otro no tanto ver partidos en la tele - soy más el tipo que cruce los Alpes a pie (lo hice el año pasado)
Mis intereses de ocio varian desde leer novelas antiguas y correr a distancia larga hasta disfrutar la vida nocturna.
Y siempre trato de visitar una exposición de arte local no importa a donde viaje.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my time in Bolivia I had the marvellous opportunity to work for a local NGO which fights the destructive expansion of the agricultural frontier in one of the most biodiverse regions of the world. I used to be employed from time to time in some remote indigenous settlements. Working together with those people(s) really taught me a lot about life and the true meaning of hospitality.

Durante mi tiempo en Bolivia se me ofreció la oportunidad maravillosa de trabajar para una ONG local que lucha contra la expansión destructiva de la frontera agrícola en una de las regiones más biodiversas del mundo. Me solían mandar a vez en cuando a algunos pueblos remotos indígenas. Trabajar juntos con cuyos habitantes realmente me enseñó mucho sobre la vida y el verdadero significado de la hospitalidad.

I believe that learning something about your culture will always broaden my mind.

What I can offer: I am fluent in German, English and Spanish (speak some French to) and at the moment I am studying Russian. So if you are interested in improving your language skills - it would be an honor to help you.
Generally I would say that I am always keen on learning something new as much as I like to share what I know.
