About Me

Hey! I'm Lukas, quite surprising, isn't it? Because my profile totally did not give that away...
So I have never tried couchsurfing, but I am more than excited to try it out. Would always love a good tip from more experienced travellers or just a chat with others.

Absolutely adore being quite random, fun and trying out new things!

Love taking these kind of 'challenges', where someone gives me a picture or a drawing and I write a short novel about it. That could be my kind of barter, a short novel for a couch under the roof!

*DISCLAIMER* I've only started using CS quite recently, so don't have much experience with it

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is like a cup of coffee.
It might be bitter and unusual at first, but when you truly get into it, you start loving every part of it. You can always pour in fancy 'sugar' hotels or 'milky' flights, but that refrains you from tasting every little, yet fantastic, bit of travelling and cultural experience that you might have.

Okay, apart from my love for writing, I am on Couchsurfing to meet people and their various cultures, as well as to get inspired to start hitchhiking and try out Couchsurfing at strangers' places for the first time in my life.
And, recently, I got inspired to start hitchhiking, so I am embarking on my first hitchhiking trip all over Netherlands!

Interests

Regarding writing, I am writing short English novels and a book in Lithuanian on my free time. Most of these are fueled with at least a bit of philosophical thoughts regarding social and cultural stigmas.
On my free time I also love taking pictures, yet I am not that proficient at it and tend to stray off people photography, but, hopefully, one day this will change.
Lastly, I am absolutely fascinated by psychology and philosophy, especially that I've studied psychology in the Erasmus University Rotterdam for a year and plan on continuing it later on. And from time to time I love to crunch on philosophy text books on my leisure time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being invited as a speaker to a conference to talk about "Laziness - a curse or a gift?". And, obviously, persuading a crowd that it is a gift, you just need to be careful with it.
That is actually an amazing topic, thus, I would be more than willing to talk to you about it!

Also couchsurfing in Japan, hopefully this list will be expanded with hitchhiking in The Netherlands!
