About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Tasmania >>> The Netherlands. Overland. By bicycle :-)
ABOUT ME
Ever since I was little -before 30- I wanted to travel and look around in our world. Now, finally, I got the chance and embarked on the mission of trying to spend all the money I saved, but not to quick please.
After a year and half in Latin America I flew to Tasmania from where I hope to reach my home land again without using a plane. In fact, I am doing it by bicycle. Basically I am on my way home but of when I will get there I have no idea! I go by bike because it is first adventurous and second the best way to meet the locals. Or the other way around. Meeting people and their culture is what counts now because after 20 waterfalls and 50 sunsets they kind of blend in to one whereas people stay always 'new'. I am easy going, they say I make contact easily and I love a good chat and the odd joke. I am making good progress with the diminishing of my dutch direct-forwardness but am sure there is something of it left that might pop out. If so and it takes you by surprise please accept my humble apologies in advance :-). Having said that, I consider myself considerate and have big respect for people who open up their house to strangers, thanks in name of all the surfers out there! Enough said now, hope to meet you and lets have a laugh and exchange stories. Till then!
PHILOSOPHY
There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I am on the surfing side but when (not if) I come back and will have a house again, I will definately have a nice couch ready for the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
People keep amazing me, their generosity can be humbling. Life is what you make it. CouchSurfing is part of life.
So far it has been an absolute pleasure and a blast!!
Interests
Sorry this is just too broad a question; the whole range of what interests me is large!
But to name a few: Anything that could fall under 'outdoors' (sports, nature, camping) but most of all adventure racing. Also on the list are cultures, conversing and gaining general and random information. National Geographic is a good one for that. I studied biology but didn't finish it because I could not see myself as a scientist.

Music, Movies, and Books
Once again; very broad interests! Like:
Travel books (and maps weirdly), Action and/or thrillers but also art-house and the better comedy for example.
Music comes with the mood. The mood mostly likes the rocky and dancy stuff.
I am not the biggest reader but I read a book the other day about a guy who rode -by bicycle- from Siberia to England that strangly had me captivated...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Realizing how much is out there. And left to explore!
