Overview
About Me
Ahoi! It's me - Lukas (25). I would best describe be as a slow traveller. Since 2018 I cycled more than 10,000 km by passion around the globe. I grew up in Berlin, Germany but lived in the course of my life in Australia, Belgium and Norway. In the course of the time I realized, that especially encountering like-minded people and reflecting upon travel experiences serve me lasting enrichments. That’s what gives my life that extra something. So, I decided to become an author and workshop facilitator instead of working in engineering (in what I graduated in university)
Taking into account that society beliefs pressure him the most, I came to a conclusion. The world is full of opportunities and the key to happiness is inside of me. By continuing to do actively more steps out of my comfort zone into the unknown, I received clear callings to explore more, not just abroad, but also to be curious in my every-day life. Till now, that’s the way how I feel like growing and broaden my horizon. I am sure that slow travelling is an important part of my universal education. Ever since this realization, I travel consciously with persistence.
Furthermore I am a non-smoker, on my way to a vegan life (still vegetarian) and I don't consume alcohol.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because people have been the most inspiring present on my journeys so far.
Interests
I played football for more than 15 years until it became boring to me. Mainly I did swimming, rowing, K1 boxing, climbing and a lot of other active stuff. Besides sports I love cooking food together no matter if friends, family or strangers. I believe that it's a powerful tool for cross-cultural understanding.
