About Me
NOTE: You can check Sara Martucci's (username: musicinthecafe) profile for most hosting references. We live together.
CURRENT MISSION
Squeeze in as much travel as possible while in school
ABOUT ME
I think that I talk about myself a lot and yet this is hard to fill. First and foremost: too self-conscious? People consider me really easygoing, but all too often I'm likely thinking about the next big task more than I should be--good poker face? I am most like myself when I am traveling and can leave a lot of structure behind. Looking forward to figuring out what the hell I am going to do with my life.
PHILOSOPHY
You only live once so do it right and miss as few opportunities to do what you want as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Met many cool people during travels and have hosted many more. I am always thinking about going away but school and work keep me here most of the year. Not that I mind, because it would take a lot to make me want to live somewhere else.
I live in Brooklyn and have hosted many people here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have been able to stay with many wonderful people, and enjoy hosting a lot when I am not buried under books (sometimes even then).
Interests
Traveling, food, bicycles, learning about what has been and speculating about what will be.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like my music catchy, fast, and loud - in that order. Exceptions are often made to the aforementioned criteria, but I also don't like art created for profit so I tend to avoid music on major labels. I know artists have to make a living as well but prefer music from those that consider art more as a way of making a mark on the world than to get rich--that's just my opinion and I am not at all pushy about it.
I like all kinds of movies. Sometimes I am very in to watching something for the setting, sometimes the story, sometimes the lack thereof. I enjoy movies that are tricky and so keep me guessing--as a good motion picture should.
I try to stick to classic novels but besides that I'll read anything recommended to me by people I trust :) I mostly read history/philosophy since it is what I study.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Snowball fight in the Rocky Mountains in May. Snowballs hurt when you're wearing summer clothes!
Spending months exploring foreign places and not working, but somehow getting by.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ask me about history or what the study of history even entails (it is not your high school/college textbook), but don't feel like you have to - who wants to talk about their day job when they get home? Well... sometimes.
I can fix or adjust just about anything on/in a car, bicycle, or computer. Working on bicycles is the funnest of the three by far, and I can tell you why: unlike a car, you can work on a bicycle on your couch. Unlike a computer, you can hit the bicycle when things aren't going well.
