I grew up in Juneau, Alaska. Moved to Oregon for college then dropped out to join the Marine Corps. But don't let that intimidate you. I'm a very laid back dude who actually surprised many people with my decision to join. My time stationed in Japan sparked a love for travelling that I'm still pursuing right now. Currently, I'm a student at Colorado State University using the life changing GI Bill. I like meeting new people and having new experiences; the crazier, the better. I'm not a reckless man, but I am looking to make some good stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well Iceland was a real monetary drain, but mostly, I would like to meet new people. Traveling alone gets lonely sometimes. Also, I would really like more time to practice my French with someone.

Interests

I taught myself how to play piano, which I love, but lately I've had to forego this passion for art. I'm currently taking some art classes at CSU.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - the girl with the dragon tattoo, a child called it, a long way home, and any memoirs or autobiographies where I can see into another's life.

Music- underground rap - the lyrically crafted stuff. Some classical and a lot of "heavy metal". Yes, the screaming stuff. It has the most energy of any genre in my opinion and is also highly technical.

I climbed Mt. Fuji in just under four hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic piano. You'd be surprised to know how little you have to learn to take off from there with practice. I'd like to be able to learn more French from someone.
