About Me

I'm an easy-going adventurer looking to explore everything the world has to offer. I am often found traveling with my beautiful wife Ashley. We are always looking to make new, lasting friendships with locals while traveling and experiencing your culture to the fullest. Ashley and I are outdoorsy people that would prefer an early sunrise hike over a late night out any day. We also aren't huge party people and would rather share stories/play games over a glass of wine or bottle of beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having traveled in the past, my fondest memories were always times off the beaten path amongst friends. I love meeting new people and exploring a culture beyond travel magazines and tourist traps. I also love swapping stories with others because I think we all have life lessons and experiences to share.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a sucker for motivational, self-help books, but my wife is 'encouraging' me to read a little more fiction. I've been (slowly) making my way through Game of Thrones series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to cross off a handful of bucket list items while studying abroad in Greece. I would have to say riding camels to the pyramids in Cairo during sunrise was something I always dreamed of doing, but didn't think I'd ever have the opportunity. The Egyptian experience was everything I'd imagined it would be and gave me a very new perspective on my opportunities in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

My wife and I have experienced a lot of unique cultures through past travels and (more recently) our around-the-world adventure we began in February 2016. We'd love to share our experiences on why quitting our jobs was the best decision we've made and also learn local culture from our hosts. Some of the best travel recommendations we've received have been through new friends along the way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My wife and I have had a lot of different global experiences that we'd love to share with our hosts. We'd also love to hear your stories and help us learn more about your culture during our stay (it's the biggest reason we love couchsurfing). Our American Midwest upbringings makes us extremely low maintenance, modest, friendly, and easy-going during our travels. We appreciate any living space provided for us. :)

We'd also love to help you in the future during your travels if we can in any way showing you around and/or exploring together. I'm also always willing to talk about technology and entrepreneurship - two things I'm very passionate about! I also get into financial investing and personal finance discussions periodically. If you have general technology questions, I'm also happy to answer and/or troubleshoot where possible.
