About Me

Hi, I'm an American living in Bolivia with my Bolivian wife and 4 kids. I love being creative, writing songs, writing stories, painting, etc. I also love exploring different cultures and discovering what makes each person, culture or nation unique.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my experience, the richest cultural experiences are in interactions with real people in real-life settings. I prefer to stay at people's homes over hotels because I get to experience their culture in action. I love making friends around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music and I am always looking cultural musical fusions. Maati Baani is a great example. I like superhero movies, Marvel in particular. As far as books, I usually get audio books related to whatever I'm interested in at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled hours by truck and then more hours by foot to get to little remote Quechuan communities in the mountains of Bolivia where I slept in mud huts in the middle of winter, ate out of the same pot as the community and sang songs in Quechua with the natives.

Teach, Learn, Share

I was an English teacher for 5 years and later started Immerse, a business that creates fun and meaningful learning experiences. I am always helping people with their English and I love learning new languages.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, fun stories, songs on my ukulele and I usually travel with delicious Bolivian chocolate.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Netherlands, Peru
