About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living an extraordinary life. At the moment, this means:
Film 3 Documentaries by the end of College.

ABOUT ME

Do you like good music? Stories? Fantasy, with non-fiction elements? Because I absolutely do.

I'm a filmmaker and intend on doing it until I am old and wrinkly. I live to have my heart rush. I want to learn to skateboard. Audio books are neat. So are afros, except my afro, that one was just bad.

Taglines aside, I'm 18 years old, originally from Nashville, and currently a student at the University of Houston's Bauer College of Business. I work with two awesome start-ups, GoodSpero and Zodist. For GoodSpero, I am a contracted filmmaker. I edit, shoot, and direct as they need me. With Zodist, I am titled as their internet media specialist. But, it is a startup, you do a bit of everything. I do take pretty pictures, but I also shake hands with vendors.

I spent most of my life in Kentucky, with spurts of time in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and most recently, Texas. I'm an Eagle Scout. I've bred, raised, and sold, goats, cattle, pigs, horses, donkeys, AND rabbits. I took a more urban route following my agricultural youth, and started shooting film about a year and a half ago. I had no idea what I was doing, but after a lot of mistakes, I got a small clue. I've been stretching that small clue for a little while, and it has led me to some incredible places.

I'm hoping to continue seeing incredible places, because I'm particularly interested in documentaries. So, if I surf your couch, you can expect me to take a pretty picture for you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I have to participate by being a surfer, spreading the word, and living the lifestyle. Unfortunately, because I am in a university dorm, I can't host. However, I believe that until I do have a home, I can still help out current hosts by making my stay as convenient as possible.

Interests

Films, art, music, street art, documentaries, performing arts, entrepreneurship, rock and roll, live concerts, dancing, singing, singing even though I can't sing, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, sailing, traveling, storytelling, stand up comedy, any comedy, sitting around in a circle playing the guitar and chatting, Gonzo journalism, learning something new, having my heart pound, adrenaline rushes, summits, and smashing limitations.

Music, Movies, and Books

*Sigh* I hate this question. There are too many. I'll try. Brick, Fight Club, Gladiator, Restrepo, Inception, The Nolan Trilogy, Lord of the Rings, Guardians of the Galaxy, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Secondhand Lions, 50/50, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Caddyshack.

Everything from Cage the Elephant to Kid Cudi to Caravan Palace. I have worked with musicians and music from several disciplines, so I can appreciate a lot of different styles. I'm particularly fond of mash-ups between genres. Warning: If you turn on one of my many jams, I may start singing and/or rapping. Or at least I will try.

Books are just the coolest thing. Thucydides' "A History of the Peloponnesian War", Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss, and Star Wars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made a short film where I shot in 4 countries: The United States, The Netherlands, France, and Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Filmmaking
Your Story
Stories, some nourishment, time, and adventure.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well first thing, I work for a film and e-liquid company. If you vape, I can bring you a handful of delicious juice. If you want a picture, I got you! If you want to share your story, I'm all ears. If you want your dishes washed, I've done them by hand since I was a kid, I'd love to do yours. I can brew a mean cup of coffee, I can scramble eggs, and make guacamole. And if you want to hear a story, I'd love to tell you mine.
