I'm from the East Coast of the United States, specifically Annapolis, Maryland. I am 21 years old and just graduated from the University of Maryland. I am traveling around Europe for 3 weeks and have mostly been staying in hostels but just found out about CouchSurfing and love the idea. I have met some incredible people and seen some incredible sights.
I love traveling, and am trying to see as much of the world in the time that I can. I was born in a town on the water so I have grown up sailing, crabbing, fishing and swimming. I have been hiking and camping all my life and love spending time outdoors, although regrettably I did not bring all my hiking gear on this trip. I have spent a lot of my time on this trip meeting new people because I think it is important to understand and learn a country's culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a passion of mine and while I will admit I am a terribly bad player of both the piano and guitar, I am learning. However, that does not stop me from listening to it, I am constantly going to concerts in the states and seeking out new music. You can almost always find me with my ear buds in, listening to alternative music, but love to discover new genres. Movies are another passion of mine, I often take a lot of videos and pictures while on vacation and set them to music and make a video of them to remember each trips greatest highlights. I have also been catching up on some classic movies while on this trip. My favorite directors are Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan and have seen most if not all of their works and will gladly talk to you about them. Finally, although I am a terrible reader because I have poor attention span (I am diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder) I try to read as much as I can. I do a little writing as well but have little creative writing skills so it's hard for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent 2 weeks volunteering in Kimberly, South Africa on a wild life sanctuary. I worked with cheetahs, lions, meerkats, servals, caracals, jackals, bat-eared foxes, capuchin and blue velvet monkeys, warthogs and other house animals. We would do work on their enclosures and feed them every morning. I even worked on and finished building a house for jackals and a large scratching post/house for the servals. On one day we actually moved the lions to a new enclosure that was more than 180 hectares and we picked them up, which was an incredible experience.
