CURRENT MISSION

I am currently planning a 6 month trip of the United States and Europe. I plan to travel from June to December of 2011, being in the US for summer and Europe for autumn/winter.

ABOUT ME

I have lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for my entire life and I love it. The beaches, national parks and people have made it an awesome place to grow up.

I love sport, especially soccer which I have played since I was 6. Other than soccer I bodyboard, snowboard and like to play any sport that involves a ball.

My other passion in life is music. I play the bass guitar as well as the acoustic and electric guitar. I love to create and play music on my own or with my band.

Overall I'm a guy passionate about exploring as much of the world as I can and hopefully this will lead to awesome experiences, friendships and memories.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am just looking to surf as I plan my 6 month trip in the US and Europe. Although if someone was to come to my area I would be more than happy to show them around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never had a couch surfing experience, except for crashing on friends couches but I don't think that counts. I am really looking forward to meeting some awesome people who can hopefully show me a bit of their hometown and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty broad musical taste but I guess my main interests are in rock, acoustic and soul music. As a bass player I enjoy music with a great bass line and something that makes you want to dance.

I like to read but don't do it as much as I should. Travel writing is starting to get me back into reading though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering to help repaint a primary school on a remote island in Fiji has been one of the most amazing and defining moments of my life. Interacting with the local kids and their families quickly put the struggles and triumphs of my life into focus and helped me appreciate what I have, and the opportunities that I have.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe I have plenty to share but I guess one major practical thing would be music. I love music and especially playing my guitars. I suppose that could also be seen as a esoteric skill to teach but I'm sure there is someone out there who wouldn't mind learning.
