ABOUT ME

Wow, they've really streamlined this site since I last logged in. Not in a good way. Oh well.

I met a guy once who told me that all Lukes are born on the event horizon.

I don't really know what that means, except that maybe I'm screwed... but I feel I should also note that he burned down his parents' house when he was 8 years old, and then named his son Luke. So maybe not the best advice.

Anyway, I was born in Montana, and I dearly love Montana, 'cause it is flipping awesome. (But don't go there, there's too many people already. Plus a bear will probably eat you.)

Now I'm a New Zealand resident ('cause plumbers are cool) and I live in Christchurch, in the lovely suburb of New Brighton. Which is a great place to go surfing, fly a kite, or get your car stolen.

Seriously, I'm in a good part of New Brighton, have a sweet house, a wonderful BBQ, and a spare room with a lumpy futon that you're more than welcome to.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have both surfed and hosted and quite enjoyed each. I especially love hosting, it's nice to show people around your home and give them a taste of the local flavor they'd otherwise have to read from a Lonely Planet. Like how to take rapids in an aluminum boat and not spill your wine or get your guitar wet.

Snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef with a sea turtle, visited Angkor Wat in Cambodia, rode an elephants' head into a river in Laos, got beat up by a girl in New Zealand, watched a deer jump off a 20 foot cliff into the water to escape some unseen predator (MT), saw a massive pike eat a muskrat in one leaping bite (ID), saw entire cliff faces collapse in the February earthquake in Christchurch, and had a drunk, topless Amazonian lesbian kick me out of my own bed in Cairns.
