About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To gain as much knowledge & experience as I can; without having my head explode in the process.

ABOUT ME

I love variety and new experiences; I'll try just about anything once. I'd like to experience as much as feasibly possible before they cover me with dirt. If adrenaline is being released you'll see me smiling maybe even laughing.

PHILOSOPHY

Although there are many different varieties of the human animal we are all very similar. Understanding that we are all different versions of our self and that one of the major things that differentiates you from me are the structures that we have been born into i.e. family, culture, language, religion, sex, etc. is very liberating and allows a lot of room for empathy. Your cumulated knowledge is completely based on your life experience. None are "better" or "worse" they are simply the sum of a jouney that based on individual starting points, each with their own unique environments; none of them chosen. None of them chosen untill one understands that their are choices that can be made.

You only know what you know, and you can't know what you don't know. Common sense is a myth, while common knoledge is a possibility but not a certainty. We are ignorant of our ignorance; we don't know what we don't know, but one can always be open to learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not yet surfed a couch with couch surfing; but I have hosted. Though I've done a lot of my own unsanctioned couch surfing; so much so that at one point I remember waking up and not remembering where I was. Which might I add was not alcohol or drug related.

Interests

I love food; I mean I really love food. I will try any food once. This was put to the test several times in China. I discovered there that I am not a fan of cold raw jellyfish, or duck brain.

I like being active and trying new sports. I've done & do to varying skill levels: Skiing (Snow&H20), snowboarding, wake boarding, surfing, paddle boarding, wind surfing, kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, hiking, camping, swimming, running, squash, tennis, badminton, basketball, volleyball, baseball, bowling, soccer, ultimate, mountain bikeing, yoga, motocross, diving, ski diving, sailing...

I'd like to learn to kite surf next.

I'm ways game try try something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Experiencing Iguazu falls. Before this moment I'd never revieved an adrenaline rush from simply watching nature. Watching the water pound down from the top of the Devil's Mouth did exactly that; It was, and is amazing. When I think about the experience sometimes it still makes my body tingle.

2. My wife marrying me. (I can be a handful... several hands full to be honest)

3. Watching the birth of my son.

Teach, Learn, Share
