About Me
Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Jambo! Konnichiwa!...My name is Luke and I'm from England. I grew up in a small village in the beautiful Cotswold Hills in England and so love the being outside and being active. I went to University in a city called Nottingham where I studied Mechanical Engineering for 4 years. I now live in a town called Cheltenham but am rarely home due to my work at music Festivals.
When I am home I spend my time working on my VW van or riding my Suzuki motorbike. When I can (and when there's waves!) I love heading down to the beach with my friends to get some surfing in - another passion of mine. Music is also one of my loves and discovering new artists at the festivals I work at is awesome! I also really enjoy activities such as Ultimate Frisbee, Rugby and swimming and yoga.
I like to think I'm a polite, easy going young guy who's up for having fun, listening to good music and eating better food!!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I'm not working festivals in the summer I get the chance to travel around in the winter. Usually I have either stayed in a tent when on a bike trip or lodged in Hostels when on foot. At the beginning of summer when at a festival in Madrid I met a lovely Spanish girl who kindly let me stay at her apartment after I missed my plane home. She introduced me to couchsurfing and so here I am! Instead of checking into Hostels and seeing the face of a city/ place, I want to meet real locals and experience the culture of places from their point of view. I am interested in the Latin America culture and very much enjoy their way of life. I think this platform offers a great opportunity to make contacts and meet friends from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Wooow where to start with music!! I like artists that connect with me. Top 3: 1) The Cat Empire - jazzy, funky and unbelievable fun to see live and the some of my favorite music to dance to 2) Vulfpeck - funk served with funk on the side - love their bass player 3) Bonobo - chilled, composed and great to relaxing to
I like clever movies with plot twists and multiple stories coming into one. Partial to a bit of sci-fi, can't beat a good comedy and like hiding behind a pillow watching a horror. Top three for me: 1) Snatch - pretty much what I described above - funny, clever with many twists 2) Les Intouchables - a French feel good comedy that leaves you smiling 3) Guardians of the Galaxy - don't know where to begin explaining this one!
I do enjoy reading every day. When I was younger I liked reading autobiographies and hearing true stories of peoples lives but now I am just pick whatever takes my interest! Top Three Series for me: 1) Conqueror Series - Conn Iggulden - interesting insight into the life of badass Genghis Khan 2) The Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling - a childhood favorite, great for the imagination 3) Jupiters Travels - Ted Simon - story of a man who rides around the world on an old Triumph motorbike - inspiring!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the most amazing thing I have done is motorbike across the United States of America with my Dad, aged 11. We started in LA and finished in Washington.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach - I've always wanted to teach surfing but have never lived close enough to the beach
Learn - I'm very keen to learn Spanish, I think it's an awesome language!
Share - Food! nothing better than cooking up a huge meal with friends accompanied by good music and tasty drinks
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good time - that's what I'm looking for on my travels. I really am up for anything and think that anyone kind enough to take me in and let me stay at their house deserves the best!!
