About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Try and make people read/buy my books and blogs - www.lukedarracott.com. See as many places and countries before I can't, either because I have a job, a family or I'm dead.
ABOUT ME
I am a young, single, man - last time I checked. Being all these things makes it quite easy for me to travel. I am trying to do as much as I can before I can't. I live in Madrid writing about travel and food and giving gastronomic tours. Also I'm involved in a TV show called Finding Little Italy.
I am easy to get along with, diplomatic, funny (I like to think) and not a crazy thief person so don't worry about getting in contact.
PHILOSOPHY
13.8 billion years before you were born there was nothing of you and for the billions of years after you die there will be nothing. Life has existed on our planet for 4.4 billion years and Homo sapiens for maybe 150, 000. We are alive for maybe 80 years. How lucky are you that you got those 80 years in all of those billions. And how uplifting is it! Use your time and enjoy this little world.
Or...carpe diem...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am more than happy to meet up and help people out in my city of Madrid. If it's a way to pass the time or if you need a tour of the place, I'd love to help.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed in Spain (Logroño, Oviedo, Santander) and met the people who helped me with my book. I also had a few brilliant experiences in Russia where I was living. I have welcomed a few travellers to Madrid and helped get those who are staying for longer periods of time comfortable and settled.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
God, what a question. Can't answer it really.
The first thing that came to me was white water rafting in Canada through a gorge. Then there's travelling around every region of Spain by myself. And also all the small-town Russia experiences I've had. Unique.
But after all this: probably the Camino de Santiago.
Teach, Learn, Share
The Antarctic is the largest desert in the world...there you go.What can I teach you? Some interesting recipes, the English language. I have a wealth of stories and anecdotes and stupid jokes that I'm sure you'll all love to hear too...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge, friendship and wine.
