Overview
About Me
I am currently teaching English at la Universidad Tecnica de Ambato, in Ecuador. I enjoy building electric guitar amplifiers, and am kind of into hifi/audio technology. I like jazz, romantic era classical music, john waters films, rap music, cycling, marine biology, and oh so much more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
atm I mostly crash on the couches of others, but in the future I will most certainly offer up my own hypothetical couch...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
well, a few of my friends have been kind enough to lend a couch when one was needed, usually just on trips when I am passing through, so I don't have a ton of couchsurfing experience...but let's change that, eh?
Interests
what are my interests...music, outdoors activities, dumpster diving, thrift-store shopping, giving stuff away to happy peoples, going on bike rides, avoiding the RAIN, basking in the SUN, yup. REALLY like the sun. working on stuff. projects and stuff. working on cars and motorcycles, building computers, maintaining saltwater aquaria, getting tattooed, drinking organic, shade-grown, fair-trade, songbird-friendly, minority/woman-owned business produced espresso beverages, and the like.

Music, Movies, and Books
you can tell a lot about someone by what media they throw up in lists like this, so I'd better be careful ;)
I'm not a huge reader, much more so during childhood through teenage years, that said, most of my reading of the past few years has consisted of BORING university tomes. yeah. but I dig sci-fi books, douglas adams, hunter s. thompson, and the like.
movies, hmmmmm. the ones that pop to mind, in no particular order:
the quatsi trilogy, baraka, fear and loathing in las vegas, brazil, all the Python films, all John Waters films, how to get ahead in advertising, children of men, most p.t. anderson films, the descent, triplets of belleville, matrix-ish sci-fi films, conspiracy films, Bullitt, most old hitchcock films that take place in the Yay area (sniffle, reminds me of home), and really pretty much any good movie.
music: I love romantic era classical, the mighty five, some 20th century stuff...difficult listening, stravinsky, ligeti, ives. I love jazz, 'trane, eric dolphy, mingus, ayler, adderly, monk, some miles, mccoy tyner, some big-band type stuff, ellington, etc.
I like rap too! but ONLY good rap :) atcq, del, smoov e, e-40, sir-mix-a-lot, eric b and rakim, too short, dj screw, kool keith, the list goes on...
and metal, lots o' doom, electric wizard, baroness, some thrash, sepultura, napalm death, and some other stuff like necrophagist, the locust, dillinger escape plan, isis, meshuggah, some buckethead,
and lots of other cool musics: some punk, garage-ish, love me some drum 'n bass, kj sawka, dieselboy, ak1200, jojo mayer with NERVE, good dubstep, a little grime, FRANK ZAPPA! enema bandit on the loose! yeah, to sum up, I like lots of good music. and I enjoy playing good music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I saw two dudes riding on a little scooter, weaving through dense SE Asian traffic. One was driving, the other was carrying an 8 foot plate glass window. Weaving through traffic at 40MPH. Pretty amazing.
