About Me

Traveler and sharer. Lover of good conversation and people who can see and like to share the beauty of the world.

CURRENT MISSION.

Travels and life around Europe.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the United States; I've lived in Phoenix, Chicago and most recently San Francisco there. For the last 8 years, I had been traveling the global on a yearly basis within my allocated "vacation" time (a minimal number of days in the US). I got sick of this grind and rat race and decided to quit my job 5 years ago and hit the road.

I left San Francisco for Colombia in November of 2013 to backpack for 6 months. I made my way down to Bolivia and back up. In May of 2014, I returned to the United States to officiate a wedding at the request of two good friends. They asked me if I would one year prior when they got engaged and my responses was, "Sure, why not?". It's a statement that I've found now, I make quite often.

After returning to the United States in May, I briefly left for work/play in Ljubljana, Slovenia; Grossglockner, Austria, Triste, Italy. Since then I've been traveling through numerous cities; Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Bozeman, Boulder, Phoenix, New York, Oslo, London, Paris, Brussels, Munich, Berlin, Austrian Alps, Budapest, Warsaw, Krakow. I regularly take off for weekends and have continued to travel to Milan, Bergen, Reykjavik, Dublin, Prague and Stockholm. I've since biked around Australia and the south Island of New Zealand. I was back in San Francisco for 6 months this year and I've been location independent basing myself where ever I see fit. I'm lucky and blessed by the amazing network of friends I not only have in the United States, but all over the world whom have graciously hosted me and introduced me to friends.

These last years of my life have been the greatest and I owe it to the road and the people I've met along the way. It teaches you things; the people you meet inspire you and show you a window of the world you can only get to look out of when you just let go and embrace the freedom of never knowing where you're going to end up.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a series of unexpected moments. See and realize those moments and don't let them pass you by. Live in the now and make the future that you want to make. Success can be found in the people you meet, the things you see, and the memories you create. It is not found in money or status. Those are the falsities of life that distract us from the real moments that pass us. Grab a hold. Roll the die.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently traveling, so I cannot host, but here to host and meet interesting people. Occasionally looking to be hosted myself. I will also attend meet-ups in towns where I don't know many people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've unofficially hosted numerous coach surfers in my years of travel. Though I only officially signed up recently but have since hosted a number of people at my previous space in Krakow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to limit it to one, so I'll list a few...combed the black sand beaches of Iceland; zip-lined across 1.5 km of rainforest in Costa Rica; eaten bear and reindeer in Lapland; taken a slow boat ride down the Mekong River in Laos; climbed glaciers in Colombia; biked around Slovenia, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Australia, and New Zealand; studied with shamans in the Amazons of Peru; helped a fisherman build a beach house in Morocco; spent the last six New Years on six different continents.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a wealth of knowledge on the history of cinema; filmmaking; and production. My trade is in production but I study cinematography and have a keen eye for composition and photography.

Oh and I like to cycle. So I'm usually a good person for tips on cycling trips.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I usually bring a bottle of local liquor from where ever I just came. Please let me know if you do not drink as I wouldn't want to offend anyone.
