Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I traveled in Vietnam meeting a lot of couchsurfers. Met terrific people who were up for anything and had the mindset that if something doesn't go as planned, you can still have a great time. Same thing happened in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu.
Interests
Athletic events - whether to play them or watch them (either live or at a bar)
Live music
Hiking/rock climbing - not an expert at rock climbing but I have done it plenty before. I am also an Eagle Scout
Bikes - I own a motorcycle so I know how to ride that and a scooter. I also have a cheap bicycle, it's my favorite mode of transportation. Just ahead of trains.
Cooking - I love to cook, and sometimes I can make a good dish. I also love to share recipes
Drinking - I'm a lightweight, so I'm a cheap date

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music, especially classic rock (aka Dad Rock). Soul music, R&B, anything that can make me move. I am also from outside Chicago, and I love listening to the Chicago blues - John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal, Little Walter, anybody from Chess Records. Favorite movie is Back to the Future. I enjoy reading books that make me laugh - Authors like David Sedaris, Christopher Moore. Short stories are a great read for traveling too!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first kiss was on top of the Eiffel Tower!
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have a lot to teach, even though I am a teacher. But when I travel I try to learn as much as I can. But I really like to share laughs, stories, food, and drinks.
