About Me
Hola!Hello!你好! It's Luke Ting. I'm a Taiwanese hippie.(yep! That has explained a lot I assume)
Feel free to say hi on Instagram @lokiting
I was born in Taichung, Taiwan, an island which is full of natural diversity, in 1992. Grandparents, parents and brother were my family members and living together. Grandfather who was a retired soldier past when I was in high school who had heavy An-Hue accent, and always cursed in a dialect from China. My grandmother who is very different from other grandmas said by my mother, she stays at home for most of her late ages and has little friends. My father has most power under this roof and is a retired police. My mother is a saleswoman in a skincare product company who always takes care of this family. When I grew up, sometimes I’m very glad I have a brother who is with me through the young ages. My brother is a humble and honest person, and a staff in a Japanese boutique.
I was cute and decorated with a lil chubbiness when I was little. Unfortunately, I had been in a hard time due to the illness. However, now, I am generally pretty healthy and usually in a good shape, the only problem that bothers me is the spur spine. There is another story of tears and sweat.
I'd been living in Taichung for all my life until May 2016. I studied for sixteen years and was charged in the military in Taichung which is really lucky. I love this city more than other cities, especially when I left Taiwan to study overseas (a'ight I gotta take this statement back). Surprisingly, the crowdedness and the food are the things that I miss so much in Taiwan, an island that is full of decent and yet inexpensive food, and very walkable downtown. (update here: I'm back to my home city and it feels funny which makes me wanna live in an exotic city again!!)
I eventually graduated from Providence University with bachelor degree in Tourism in 2014. (Brief statement about my student life LOL)
I was charged in ROC military in 2015, and was discharged the next year. Through the darkest time in my life, I became a man…who knows how to slack off. (The dude next to me was the man…who always slacked off and was my bestie in the military)
I was working on the degree in a college overseas in the United States, and I was also getting my English fluent. I enjoyed living overseas, so my goals are traveling-working all around Europe. I was studying Spanish with my girlfriend who was a Spaniard (sadly broken up). The reason I would like to work overseas is that I desire to explore the world and enjoy the diversities and those crazy things I have not seen before.
Talking about my interests, the first one comes to mind is music, I have been playing instruments since I was eight-year old. I play the violin, piano, trombone and guitar. I have been playing the violin for quite a long time. But my all-time favorite genres are Metal and Psytrance. Also I had been in couples of bands back in my home country, two orchestras and two metal bands.
I have been studying philosophy for awhile and I am always looking for a way that can lead me into a spiritual and immaterial life. The philosophy from Buddhism is what I am drilling in (there's no almighty gods in my philosophy tho), changing the mind to keep away from suffering is the most important concept of the philosophy. One of the most important goal for me is managing my emotions well and spreading kindness to people.
