ABOUT ME

I greatly enjoy sharing small and big adventures with other people. I'm an open person, always eager to learn new things and hear a good story. I grew up internationally aware in Bonn, Germany - still capital of West Germany at the time. Attending high school in the U.S. and studying at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, just made me love experiencing other countries and cultures even more. I've had the travel bug ever since I was a kid and too much time away from airplanes, trains or my car: I am not a happy camper. Nothing better for my peace of mind than to hear some foreign languages around me.

I occasionally host, surf other people's couches only rarely, but have shown CSs around and driven them halfway across Europe in my car.

Interests

I love social events that bring together different people from all over the place. I play baseball, basketball, icehockey, ultimate frisbee and took up kajaking, salsa dancing and surfing. I travel extensively and am very aware of international affairs and different cultures. I also love practicing foreign languages, whether English, French or my rudimentary Portuguese, Spanish or Italian. Or should we say "Portunoliano"?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skiing on the mountains around Sarajevo - where not long ago a brutal civil war was waged.
My head-to-head with a grown elephant bull in South Africa.
