Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like socializing with other people because it is always fun to know and share things with them. I also teach English to children in my house. It's more like giving the facilities to learn English in my place so that they have the opportunities like other lucky ones. I love to have English speaking people to participate in the classes to motivate them to speak English. Most surfers who come, always support me with this activity. I also facilitate surfers who want to know more about Indonesian language by giving them the chances to visit my office (language center) to discuss things with my friends or to visit my office library. Surfers can also learn Indonesian informally at home with me or friends. I happen to have some experince in teaching Indonesian language. Another thing is that the surfers are always given the chances to get involved in any traditional ceremonies or local people activities which allow them to know more about the unique culture or cuisine of Jambi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gathering 50 children in the neighborhood to play fun games and interact with surfers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I offer the surfers to experience the interaction of English in my classes and interact with the students who come from different ages and economy classes. I can introduce my traditional culture/food in Jambi which is very rich and exotic such as the cultural ceremony of wedding, baby shower, and many more. I can also show exotic ancient temple sites (Muarojambi temple) and many beautiful natural objects in my city. One more thing, I always invite the surfers to experience playing badminton, tennis, or swimming as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Beside rooms to stay with some facilities (Bed, tables, bathroom, towels, AC), I also invite them to interact with mys students, visiting some interesting spots, and trying local culinary delights of Jambi.
